Will the pandemic bring about another Great Recession. There will be foreclosures no doubt, but this time Home Equity will keep most homeowners in their castle. Unlike 2009-2010 when mortgages required little to no down payment, lending institutions got it right this time plus home values have held steady and here, on eastern Long Island, most have increased in value.  The increase in Home Equity will reduce the incentive for homeowners to give up their home if it can be possibly be avoided.
